To me, Michael Ortlieb was a Godsend. I was at my lowest, losing my apartment, at no fault of my own, because I wanted my ceiling fixed, because it had a huge hole in it, and I had water damage to everything in my living room. I reported my landlord to the Building Inspector, and he wrote my landlord up on a lot of things, and lo and behold, I got a retaliation eviction notice. I gave my landlord five months to get it fixed, and she wouldn’t. I thought for sure I was going to be evicted, and Michael somehow miraculously worked some magic, and now I’m not getting evicted. Michael treated me as if I was a longtime friend, when in fact I had just met him. He is such a down to earth caring man. He truly cares about his clients, and does everything in his power to get his clients what they want. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!!!!
After her death, I was appointed administrator of my mother’s estate. I had allowed a tenant into her Hampton Falls home who would not vacate the home as agreed and would not pay rent or any of their fuel and energy expenses. I was stuck in a very bad situation.
I attempted to have them evicted but New Hampshire tenant laws are very complex and four months later they were still in the home with the estate paying all of their bills. We were being slowly bled financially by someone who was well-versed in how to game the system and who refused to leave.
I met Michael Ortlieb and hired his firm to take the case. He filed the paperwork and served the tenants the same day. He was extremely professional in his dealings with my family and the court system. The result was a swift judgment in our favor, a smooth eviction by the sheriff and possession of our home once again.
I could not have been more pleased with the services that the firm provided and the level of professionalism that was exhibited. Michael kept me informed of the progress in the case and offered sound legal advice throughout the process.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Simmons & Ortlieb for any legal issue in the seacoast region.
